hi,
1) make your ladder with brushes oOo:
2) Texture it oOo:
3) make another brush with the purple ladder texture (textures-common)
4) place the brush right before your ladder
5) select the purple ladder brush and click right mouse in 2d view....then go to function (func) and select ladder!!
6) hit N (while purple ladder brush is selected) and try the angles. Just keep trying with the angles till they work. Check
