It has yet to be revealed if Rommel was actually ploting against Hitler, i think germany loves him so much they will not tell the truth. If he had directed the attack on Russia they might have had less casualtys, german panzer tacticts were always the same, a double pincer maneuver. Russia anticipated this in the battle at kursk. Maybe with Rommel in command they would have chosen a new tactic and actually have surprised the russians.
