Hey Bane what u saying is correct. AMD uses a different method of rating there CPU's. I believe the way the rate them is how they are compared to an Intel processor.

For example a XP2700+ is in fact 2.16GHz i believe, but its "rated" at 2700 because its just as quick as a P4 2700GHz processor. (2.8Ghz to be exact since there is no 2.7GHz P4). So they kinda use this so u know how quick it is compared to an Intel chip.
So in reality your 1800 AMD is equivalent to a Intel 1.8Ghz chip, got it?
