Most religions beleive that time on earth is a test, not the reward, and that God takes a hands off approach.

Without bad, there can be no good. If there were no starving in africa, or war, or violence, what would be bad? Would not getting a new game for your birhtday now be a tragedy? Would they have telethons to set it right? Good and bad is all relative.
