You're 1/2 right. No, it dosen't take a PCI slot, but it does take an additional case slot:

NVidia got smart and added a fan that actually routes the heat right out of the case. Besides, you shouldn't have any PCI cards directly next to the AGP port installed, unless all of the other slots are filled.[/quote:9fa30]
Oh, alright, I don't know what everything is in there, and don't quite remember all of the article. I wonder if it's loud..I know I can hear mine from the Ti4200.
