if you right-mouse click the MOH:AA:S shortcut, and choose properties, you can add "+set developer 0" to the line. So it should look something like this:

Target: "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Allied Assault\SPEARHEAD.EXE" +set developer 0

I'm about 75% sure this will stop the problem, as I had this for awhile too, but it stopped somehow.
