You need a Third Party Program to uninstall DX9. I know there are a few that do DX8 but have not been updated to 9, some say "not tested for DirectX9, use at your own risk", so I would do just that.And an old version will not install over a new one. The installer will complete and say "DirectX INstalled" but when you check file versions with dxdiag, they are still 9. Unless you can find some software, you may have to reformat your drive and start over.
P.S. Please, Please, someone code a valid gaming platform for Linux.
