Someone one this thread said earlier that the allies would have eventually won the war without US intervention and that the war would have probably dragged out until 1950. Consider the amount of new weapons Germany was developing in the closing years of the war. These included long-range jet bombers, the fastest fighters known to man (the Me-262) and all sorts of ballistic missles. If the war was allowed to continue until that time without the immense bombing campaign shared by the US and Britain, dont be so sure that the allies would have won the war at all.
