Come on, wake up, Juggernaut. Why were they allowed to make their own? It was the logic of. . ."Hey, if those people have their own grocery stores and outlets on their side of town, they won't come to ours."

Also, they were not allowed in the normal sense. Many Black entrepreneurs of the previous generation could tell you horror stories about trying to get capital to get started. Pick a book and read, before making comments like the one above.

As far as the comment of sveral people here regarding black people being more racist than whites, racism is not endemic to any one race, so guess what? You encounter a black racist, WOW! He's a human being just as prone to ignorance and stupidity as anyone.

Do you really believe that black people created their own subculture in American society because they just wanted to be separate? THINK! They wanted to be accepted for who they were and they were not. Black oriented publications, civic groups, societial forums etc. were not created out of a desire to be separate, they were created out of frustration. Undertand that. The time for their need is passing, slowly as society advances, but there still is a ways to go. The evidence is in the ignorant attitudes of many people in this thread.[/quote:0c629]

EXACTLY jedimarksmen, but now we have to undo all the harm causesed by segragation. Im starting to think that banning Black History month isnt the solution, I think that Blacks will eventually get tired of it when it's no longer needed. It will weed itself out.
