Personally, I really have no real problems w/ shotguns. I play in a lot of clan servers, and I haven't encountered many shotgun users, and the ones that I did suck. Nothing like killing a shottie whore w/ a pistol. I do think that the shotgun takes some skill. When I first started playing the game, I totally sucked w/ the shotgun (partly because of my gay internet connection back then).

My real problem lies in rockets. Besides its amazingly slow reload time, it really has no distinct weaknesses. You get close to one, they shoot at the ground and kill both of you. This is the weapon, not shotguns, that I feel requires no skill.

I basically tried every weapon, and am currently using the Axis Mauser (rifle) the most. This, in my opinion, is probably the hardest weapon to master, especially in close quater stages like Stalingrad.
