I understand malarkey, totally. Ive been upgrading on a shoestring budget ever since I got into computers. the one time I sprang was for a new dell 4 years ago.

and im still paying that baby off but, seriously, im 31 and just graduated from college in 2000, so I havent had a lot to play around with either. you just have to look at where you get money and how you can take the scraps you get ahold of from time to time, and how you can upgrade bit by bit.

for instance, I got about 75 bucks for my bday, with parents and grandmothers giving me a little cash. I saved that and sold a couple of things, my video cared being replaced and ended up with 250. then took that, found some good deals online and got a gf3 and sb audigy for like 330. got a good sound and video upgrade for 80 bucks of my own money.

my burner doesnt work anymore, I cant upgrade the bios on my mb, my cd is about to pop, and im stuck on 900 mhz oc'd on my p3. so I dont have any fancy system, but it works. I just hope my cd lasts long enough to get MOH installed

40 pounds is about 50 or so american. I pay that for dsl. its not as fast as my cable was, but its more consitent.

I'd say go for the upgrade, online games will be a prob on 56k, but at least you can still play sp smoothly as opposed to neither smoothly (graphics wise). you could prob go up to a 700 p3, those you could get for under a 100 american, another 128 m, ~15 american, gf3 ti200, ~150 american. anyone of those would be good, especially since you dont have a 3d card. I cant believe you can even play this.

well, anyway, hope this helps, good luck
