Im not so sure about that...[/quote:d660c]
gotta love the bandwagon vasili lovers ever since enemy at the gates came out. their knowledge of him is strictly limited to the movie.

simo hayha was an incredible soldier and a hero of finland. in 100 days he racked up 502 - 542 kills with a scopeless rifle (mostly) he made many of his kills with an iron sight. he recently died on april 1st 2002 at 95 belive. again also his kills were scored at an average of 300+ yards in the freezing temperature. his record has never been matched and holds the worlds highest kill count on earth. the war ended for simo when he was shot in the face with an exploding bullet. he never faught again after that.[/quote:d660c]

Im sure Simo is a great rifleman, but you cant tell me that the only thing I know about Vassili is what is in the movie, because I have Enemy at the Gates (the book), which is not a novel about the movie. Its is a history book all about the battle for Stalingrad. It has no pictures of Jude Law or Ed Harris, or any other actor from the movie. It was written in the early 80's. The movie was actually based on the book.
