Default Accusations - 03-06-2003, 10:57 AM

These accusations happen to me as well, sometimes. But I also sometimes suspect somebody (most of the time when they're better than I am); lots of times I am right, I think. But I never call someone a cheater anymore. I just play, and if there are too many of them (cheaters), I leave.

Fortunately, I have found some servers where they are running anti-cheat software. Some are not public, or need a password. It's not waterproof, but better than the public ones.

Also, I have read about some anti-cheat software being developed, which checks server and client side for cheats. I'm hoping many public private servers will start running these; maybe it helps. Untill then I'm sticking to servers where cheating is minimal (I think).

If it stays like this, I will probably continue playing MoHAA, but not as often as nowadays. That sucks, because I still like MoHAA. Even after a year of playing online (In my opinion MoHAA is the best MP game ever, I like it more than any other game).

Maybe, as I have said before, the cheaters will finally stop playing and move on to the next game. My guess is the real cheaters don't really like the game after all, they only like to win (or being annoying or something). In believe the people who REALLY like the game will not easily be tempted by cheats. They like a nice battle more than winning. For example, I almost always rifle (both M1 and KAR). Those aren't the easiest weapons to handle. Winning is nearly impossible if your playing against machinegunners with the same level of skill you have, but nothing beats the feeling of killing a BARman with a KAR...

I am aware that this may all seem incredibly ingenuous of me, but I think there is some truth in it.
