In my experiance, the vid cards will not overheat enough to even raise your case temp if you have good airflow. The gpu is suspended away from any other components and as a rule, the pci slot next to your agp slot should be left empty. If you dont have an agp slot, dont bother overclocking, its hopeless. They also tend to sit right near the exhaust vents on most cases. All gpus I have oc'ed (ti4200 64mb and a gf2pro) will give plenty of warning before they damage themselves, much less anything around them. Again, if you get nervous about any of this, overclocking is not for you.
