Cheating in multiplayer sux. Anyone who says otherwise is a belligerent fool. This is one example of things people do that hurt themselves. Cheating ruins the game for so many people that they get frustrated and stop playing (take CS as an example). Then the cheater has less people to play with, less support, less chances of a sequel, etc. And there's no going back. If the cheater gets bored with cheating, too bad because there will be so many other cheaters now.
The only possible solution I can think of is to have a club for non-cheating players. If you cheat, you get kicked from the club and can't play in club games. Club games are password protected. Club membership could require an email address, and be just enough of a pain join and take long enough, that these impatient cheating types wouldn't be able to stand joining again under a new email address after being kicked out.
