Also, America is a big place covering a large bandwidth of ping (it's around 80-150 ping from one side of the States to the other, isn't it?) so I presume this may be a more reliable and fast offer for different people?

I live in the UK where reliable and fast connections mean sub 20 ping at best and sub 70 ping at worst. So I can understand your sentiment if that were the case.
