Actually, its because they tear shit up. they take the paint off of rails, leave nasty black marks on any concrete corner, etc. They torn up some planters near where I used to work so the city installed these little bumps on the planters so teh skaters couldnt do any grinds. Now we have half torn up planters with these stupid little bumps on them. They are also a liability risk to themselves and others around them, as well as the property owners.
