No offence guys but I bet that none of you, NONE OF YOU, not one single person here has ever read any type of book about the life of a Jew inside Germany between 1933 and 1945. According to some of you people the holocaust was the fault of is like two members of the Nazi party now. :P You just keep on defending everything and you're basing it on what? The accounts of a German soldier that was stationed in Normandy? People saw that Jews were being beaten, their stores were being destroyed by "Nazi hooligans", and the MAJORITY of the people supported it because they did it too. The German shopkeepers put up signs, "No Jews allowed". Jews were robbed and their houses were burned down. They weren't allowed to go to school with other kids. People were given away by some nazi sympathizer on where they were hiding. If these SS officers were so nice and kuddly, why didn't they just say that they got all the Jews in Berlin and stop searching, but no they kept on looking because they wanted to. They didn't have to know about the camps. All of this should already be bad enough to start protests and stop the madness. People also had the Mein Kampf, they were able to read it, after they would have read it they would probably know what was going on.
In terms of the Soviet soldiers which are blamed being as evil as the Nazis; you have to understand that these people have seen Auschwitz, mass graves of their own citizens, they heard terrible accounts, and other horrific things on their way to Germany from the prisoners and the populations they liberated. Also they lost 20,000,000 people and their cities such as Stalingrad were totally destroyed. When they reached Germany, even if they weren't already pissed off enough, they saw these people being filthy rich, compared to their standards, and spoiled. On the other hand the Soviets were tired and exhaisted, and they lived in terrible living conditions after they have been forced to fight a war by the Germans themselves. I could understand why the Soviets would have raped and destroyed cities. I personally think that the Soviets went VERY easy on the Germans during their attack on Germany. The Soviets lost 20,000,000 and the Germans lost 10,000,000. If they were really evil and sought real revenge they would have killed 10,000,000 more Germans.
