i'd hafta say the best WWII battle scene would be the bridge scene @ Ramelle in SPR. its one of the first WW2 movies to use real German tanks since Kelly's Heros. Where Spielberg found those Panzers is beyond me but it really helps add to the realism rather than seeing an Old Sherman with Iron Crosses painted on it shooting at Allies. Thats the type of battle i'm looking forward to in Allied Assault (with Tigers and Halftracks coming in from all sides with nothing more than like 2 dozen guys to fend it off) Its really a tribute to the soldiers and shows us who weren't there exactly what type of horrors those soldiers faced. Everything in that movie is true to what really happened in those fights. Read Stephen Ambrose's D-Day which is almost entirly soldier's first person account's of what happened. Its almost like you can see SPR being born directly out of those soldier's mouths. Really you all should read that book, I have gained so much more new respect for our veteran's after reading that book. It's great that they are buildign a memorial to honor our veterans with as well in Washington, God know's they have earned it. Sorry I'm going on and on so i'll let all of you go.
Never forget what our soldiers fought for.
