I asked about this on the Board of Developers forum to see if anything was being done about it, but got nothing.

I wholeheartedly agreee with Adam, the sniper thing took away any authenticity of D-Day and ruined the beach map in RTCW for me, it's why I stoped playing that map and eventually the game.
