Wow, you guys are total n00bs.

First of all, it isn't techno, it is fucking DANCE. Techno is a very specific sub-genre of dance. Most of you would be too trapped in the mainstream mold to be able to appreciate REAL techno.

As for good DANCE music, I would suggest S.L.A.M. as a good introduction to the largest and most popular genre of music in the world. It's minimalist, not too crazy, and really good to listen to while you're hanging out with friends. Get either "Alien Radio" or "Fabric 9" by them. The former is a long set made more for release on CD, although it had a couple of records ripped from the set. The latter was a set they played in the UK club, "Fabric"

If that doesn't float your boat (i hate mainstream radio whores) then you should try Paul Oakenfield. Again, his music is more accessible to people used to pop culture than a lot of other really good music that people spit on (eminem is a cocksucker) because it has no lyrics and they're too fucking stupid to try and understand what's being said in a song with no words.

If that doesn't work, you could always try Progressive House.. often referred to as the "bridge" to the Dance genre. Very pop-ish music.. often here trip-hop influences in the beats.

If you still can't find anything you like, you are truly an American. More than 75% of the American population dislikes the dance genre of music. Embarassing considering that dance is the most popular genre of music in the world by a very, very, very long shot. Ignorance abounds here.
