ey ppl.. need help yet again.. :$ lol

in ps7 (photoshop 7) i need some help with masks.. i make a crosshair with a white bg.. then put in in a pk3 save it and go into a game.. but it shows the whole 16x16 image not just my crosshair.. and i cant get the masks working..

can anyone help?

and also.. how do i open .dds files? so i can make skins work with texture compression on.. thanx heaps guys
