Fraps sucks, use VDub, you need capture .dll files, but once you have those it produces 0 lag.
But with Fraps, you have to turn off all of the eye candy and set your resolution to 800x600, and if you play 800x600 standard, then you have to go 480xXXX.
And not everyone has $800.00 to buy Adobe Premiere, which is why VDub is useful, it serves all of those purposes, in a smaller file.
Not to mention that Fraps captures each frame in tga format, at an average of 40 fps, thats a buttload of frames, which means a huge size.
A 1 minute 30 second video is 2 GB, even after compressing it with DivX Pro Codec, it was still 90 MB.
So I recommend VDub, and you can get the capture drivers anywhere, just browse around.
