Your point is well taken. Unfortunately there are too many parents teaching their children the wrong lessons regarding gun safety, and at too early of an age. I was thinking more in terms of the ordinary man, not a soldier, learning proper gun safety in order to be able to safely handle a gun.

But what you said does not surprise me at all.
