It was the single-most retarded scene I have EVER scene in a war movie. He was out in the open on OHAMA FRIGGIN BEACH and drew no fire from the defending germans. Not to mention that his character was a Brig. General! Like there were a lot of those storming the beaches on D-Day...

there was a brigadier general (don't recall name but I'll get back to you on that) who landed on Omaha actually, and enemy MGs basically couldn't do anything once you got to the seawall, so one could stand next to said wall. The big problem was that all areas were one could get over the seawall were covered with machineguns.
