i figured this would be a worthy thread for my 1000th post. im from the south side of chicago, whitesox fan all the way. what i have witnessed here is an exact repeat of what the cubs did in '84.

Cubs vs Padres '84

they were up 3 to 1 in the series, they were 5 outs away from winning the pennant with a 3 to 0 lead, with their best pitcher pithing : rick sutcliff. cubs lost the game and lost the series.

Cubs vs Marlins '03

they were up 3 to 1 in the series, they were 5 outs away from winning the pennant with a 3 to 0 lead, with their best pitcher pithing : mark prior. cubs lost the game and lost the series.

coincidence? ya. freaky coincidence that almost makes non curse believers believers? ya. makes ya think. also the last pitcher to hit a homerun for the cubs was rick sutcliff in game 7 oOo: freaky.

is this whitesox fan happy? yes rock:

marlins vs yankees or redsox ... rolleyes: watch the highest baseball playoff tv ratings in 20 yrs plummet as the battle of who cares goes for the world series. im hoping for the AL all the way, the marlins dont deserve their second world series in their measley 10 yrs of existence.
