Thats funny , I kind of expected a "your gay" from you. But it is nice to see a resonable responce from you. Thank you for that.
Now , Slavery was a bi-product. It would have been abolished sooner or later. The Imacipation Proclamation was not concerning the Civil War.
The biggest issue that started the Civil War was Economics and The ballance of Government power. Due to the Properganda created to unite the remaining States to hold down the Revolution , the Southern States got a bad rap.
Look my point is simply this...
The Confererate solgiars who went to war for there freedom are regarded as the enemy of that freedom because of slavery. Prior to the Civil War Slavery was used widely in ALL states. Fathers and sons , Relitives and neibors faught each other and died defending what they believed was right. If you ever end up in the deep south of the US you will see Confederate flags in people yards , right beside the stars and stripes. You will see monuments erected to those you died , and you may even be lucky enough to come across the rebel song.
There is enourmous pride for those who died there. It has nothing to do with racism or slavery. Its about honor , courage and respect for the fallen solgiar.
I hope this will clarify my standing on this issue. These things I know because I lived there. My familly is one such familly that faught each other in the Civil War. We have a long heritage and I can tell you from the actual documents handed down to me through the generations that slavery had very little to do with the Why solgiars went to arms.
