.....You could say exactly the same thing about the Swastika. rolleyes:

tripper, you really dont understand it do you...imagine your grand father fought in a war because he was defending new zealands rights against austrailia who was trying to impose her will on your population, it was a terrible war that pitted families against families, lasted 4 brutal years where more new zealenders died then all of the others previously fought put together, and in the end because austrailia was bigger and had a bigger population you were finally over whelmed because your population had ran out of males between the age of 18-35. Now imagine being told by an austrailian who just conquered your country that you cant have a new zealend flag hanging at the soldiers cemetery because it offended him, and that even though you were flying the austrailian flag over your local legislative building and a new zealand flag flying under neath it...that you had to take down the flag that represented your country again because it offended an austrailian, and even though the austrailians promised you "the freedom of expression" your told to take it down because it offends a small minority of the population, how would you feel?

As for the confederate flag being the same as the swastika, in some ways it is, soldiers fought and died under both of them, the only diference being that the nazi flag represented a political party and an idealogy, the confederate flag represented a nation, that was trying to defend its culture and way of life from an opressive north who was trying to force their since of right and wrong onto the south, the fact of the matter is it shouldn't matter what the flag represents...because in the united states we have the first amendment...and if you don't like what something says and or displays...DONT LOOK AT IT!
