[quote="Xorcist [USA]":178de]Build your own. It's a hell of alot cheaper and you don't have to buy everything at once. I got an athlon XP 2600+ for $100 and a Gigabyte K-7 Triton Mobo for $50 off of E-bay. Thats basically a whole new system when you throw in your other other devices. Just keep adding newer components as you come up with the cash.[/quote:178de]
building your own is cheaper but is much harder since you have to do all the work of finding the right parts than assembling the thing yourself. plus if you need tech support, you're the one who built it so you're out of luck
i have a gateway computer that im very happy with spent $1200 a year ago on a 2.53mhz 512mb ram, dvd cdr ram read drive, 128mb g4orce graphics card, nice Boston speakers, 17" monitor, win xp...and this was one of the higher end computers at the time, they had less powerful computers for much cheaper.
have had no problems w/ it, can upgrade easily. i would much rather buy from a company that makes the full package computer than just separate parts
