heh, i am right in the midst of ordering my parts for my first pc build. here is my list:

Antec Perf. Case Model:PLUS1080AMG $114
AMD 64 3200+ w/ 1mb L2 Cache $419
Asus K8V Deluxe $137
1GB Mushkin DDR PC-3200 Level II Ram $315
Lite-On 8X DVD-RW/+RW Drive $37
Western Digital 80GB 7200RPM $75
Asylum gf4ti4600 128mb vid card $0

Total Estimated Cost: $1097

i already purchased and have the case, hd, and cd/rw drive...all i have to do is buy the 3 big hardware components now: cpu, mobo and ram. my budget for hardware was 1000-1200 dollars and i met it nicely.

i am using my old gf4 ti 4600 vid card as a stop gap measure for now, because i feel its still a pretty damn good card, and i cant afford spending another 400 dollars on an unecessary upgrade. (i will simply wait to upgrade the vid card later this yr) i am using my old dell 19" monitor, i will buy some cheap logitech z560 speakers, throw in another 70 bucks for keyboard and mouse and i will have a killer system for a total of around $1200.

a fun thing i like to do is goto alienware and plug in all the hardware i just ordered and see the total price at the end. like $3000 minimum! happy:
