This further proves that the BCS is no longer relevant.
USC and LSU split the national championship, as was the case three times (I think) before in history. I can still remember, as a Nebraska fan, getting very excited in 98 when we managed to get our share of the title in Tom Osborne's last year. The Huskers had to split it with Michigan.
The main problem is the two poll system. Why don't the coaches and AP both vote on the same poll? Their votes would have just as much weight as they do now in the two poll system. Human voters are certainly smarter then the BCS computers, this year is a prime example of that.
