Yes, Mike Tyson is a productive part of society because he used efficient protective gloves and belts.

Well, holding, putting you hand on teh puck in the crease, spearing, boarding, roughing, too many men, fighting are all not allowed and are all penalties.

Fighting isn't illegal, but it is penalized.

So what's your point? Because fighting and other actions get you penalties, they shouldn't be allowed?

Fighting is an important part of the game. It rallies your team, and many times can be a turning point and win a game for a team. It rallies the fans and energizes the team.

Do you want the players to not wear pads, have absolutley no hitting or touching other players in any way and play like that, since the main goal is to put the puck in the net, why do we need any other part of the game?

Shold we do the same for football and rugby?
