Alright i just ran throught the thing again. I updated my vid card drviers just to be sure i was current. I maxed out settings that are important to me, ie environment, models, so forth, leaving the rest at medium to high. Running at 1024x768x32 with medium antialiasing, my vid card forces 2x on all programs, which is probably what medium would have been. Also i heard from a beta tester that if your not using the "Very High" setting on lighting than you may acctually degrade proformance because it will not be using the DX9 renderer.

The biggest tweak i did was something i hadnt thought about until i rememberd playing VC for the first time. I upped the mouse sensetivity to about 3/4. That tends to fix the "sluggish" response people complained about in the controls. Worked in VC, worked in FarCry as well. This made for a great game, and i have a totally differant view of the game after doing these small things.

Also finding out that the binoculars can pick out enemy's at great range made the map far easier. Also hiding under the docks and making noise so they would look for you made it easy to kill that entire group.

The scenry is incredible
