1) I never said canada dosen't manufacture their own small arms. I don't know whether they do or don't.

2) Every country imports and exports raw materials, this is merely because of geographical locations. However, Canada's reliance on america for large, complicated pieces of military hardware is a metaphore of canada's reliance on america when dealing with complicated issues of all types.

3) Everyone's participation in ww2 was important and appreciated. Canada's veterans don't deserved to be degraded because of their spineless countrymen. However, I believe it is true that an allied victory in ww2 was just as important to canada, as it was to america. That being said, america made a MUCH greater investment in lives and money in the war then did canada. The FACT is that ww2 could not have been won without american involvement in it. On the other hand, ww2 could have been won without canadian involvment. This shows that Canada has, and still does rely on the united states for their national security. i.e. canada is not a self reliant country.

4) There are other countries that rely on the united states, and are basically american "puppet" states... in that list i would include, canada, mexico, south korea, and israel, among others. However just because a country imports goods from america, i would not consider them a "puppet" state, China and russia are excellent examples of this.

5) while there are countries that export goods from canada, the u.s. included, there are no countries that depend, or have ever depended, on canada, for their very survival.
