That was written onto the American constitution in a time when the people could keep the government in tact if they went sour. I don't think a civillian uprising with weapons would do much against a M1 Abrams or an Apache nowadays. Its outdated. Hense no need for it. Gun toting fanatics don't go crazy on me but doesn't the M 16 like the AK 47 run on a piston ?. Why not just take that out ? I have no problem with collecting guns if they are neutrlized. 1st off you dont have a clue

2nd I doubt if it ever came to it and we crazy Americans decided it was time to overthrow our govt that the soldiers (who are our sons,daughters brothers and sisters) would fire upon American people

3rd Lawful guns are used for just that, lawful purposes

4th I will enable myself to protect myself and family from thugs

5th you said the "American" gun companies were importing guns into Canada- well that is just non sense. Criminals are importing the guns and they are from manufactures all over the world, not just the US

6th It is sad that that kind of violence happened at your school

guns always get the blame when it is the people behind them that cause the problem. i know you will say "well if there wernt any guns then this wouldnt happen" that arguement doesnt hold water. It would be the same as saying if you outlawed cars that would stop drunk driving
