I'm in agreement with most of what Madmartagen said....except the part about our founding fathers being against it now. I for one believe in the 2nd amemdment (A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed). It's our "right" to bear arms, you're not forced to do so. As for having a background check, i believe it's a good idea. The person shouldn't have a felony record, a mental history, and they should be fingerprinted.

I own 3 firearms and carry one most all the time. When it's not feasable to carry, i'm armed with a knife. I always have some sort of defensive weapon on me. I'll be dammed if i just stood by as someone tried to harm me or a member of my family.
