improve performance? that depends soely on your video card.

for nvidia go to google.com and search for nvmax.

or go to guru3d.com and dl geforce tweaker.

i dont know about ati. im sure there are equivelent proggies out for that.

you dont dl openGL. Your vid card has whats called an ICD (installable client driver). which more less translates the openGL code into something the hardware on the card can understand.
