depends how the person making whatever they are making

for my BF:V maps i run a beta (ver 1.0) then when I upgrade the map and make improvements go up to 2.0, 3.0 and so on.

I've seen people use 0.5 then go to 1.0 and moving up in .5's

some people add letters, it's up to you it's your project.
