Here's what it says on Logitech's site:

"You may wish to set the 4th button to [Shift] or [Control], and then customize the button in the game setup. For example, program the 4th button to [Shift] and in the game, set the motion 'crouch' to Shift. When the 4th button is pressed, it will crouch."
