ok i consider myself to have views farthest from conservative but I do notice a difference between world war 2 and the current war in iraq and vietnam. our entry was caused by a direct attack on hawaii. vietnam, although many can argue it was an attack on our values, was just another example of southeast asian geopolitical containment policy.
removing an authoritarian regime in a year and then installing a democratic election by june 30th is extremely difficult. I can't say I'm a fan of american politics lately because of the inability to put the money where it needs to be...
i respect anyone who is willing to step into a warzone. it is the ultimate death machine and the most horrible thing known to mankind. lets face it, you can never get everyone to agree with you in a democracy...it is built upon conflicting ideas as opposed to the authoritarian dictator who sets the rules.

although you represent a conservative pov, I do agree that we need to pool our resources into ending this conflict within iraq. if we can pull together and achieve somekind of reconciliation between us and the iraqi people, others will see that an arab state IS possible of something other than islamic rules dictating their lives completely.

sorry if it is incoherent, im lazy to edit

ok if you dont read any of what i typed before, I wanted to say that whenever a war is started and your country is involved...it is necessary to end it as soon as possible in the most efficient manner. however, the reasons for starting a war not caused by direct assault are questionable. since our bush administration was acting on motive and not a defense from a direct iraqi attack, the answer to that question is negligible in the transition to iraqi democracy. we can't pull out of iraq, we are there to stay, no matter what.
