I appreciated your post. My dad was captain of the medical corps that landed on Omaha beach.
An interesting tidbit......even though my father had nothing to do with the memorial site where the Americans are buried over there, he did pick the site where the dead would be buried. That was his decision. Later it was turned into the beautiful memorial site you see today.
I have also visited Normandy with him.
He showed me one of the bunkers on the beach where he brought in some of the wounded.
I could go on with many stories but thought you might find that one interesting. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on this subject. Ignore the idiots. They don't have a clue what they're talking about. And yes, they're just stupid kids.
