heh, I dont know about other airlines, but on United, you can tune the radio to the cockpit station and listen to the pilots and crew talk to other planes and traffic control.

This must sound stupid, but arent all flight transmissions supposed to be in English?? That story about the German pilot reminded me of some rule I was told.
