TSN has learned that Craig Conroy is leaving the Calgary Flames for the Los Angeles, signing with the Kings as a free agent.
The deal is for three years, plus an option.
Conroy missed 19 games this past season with a knee injury and scored 47 points in 63 games. However, he bounced back with a strong playoff, scoring 17 points in 26 games as the Flames reached the Stanley Cup Final.
The 32 year-old native of Potsdam, New York has elevated his game since arriving in Calgary in March of 2001. Conroy has spent much of his time centering a line with Jarome Iginla, giving the former checking centre a more pronouced offensive role; one that helped him score 188 points in 247 games over three-plus seasons with Calgary.
Conroy's status in the game has increased to the point that he was named to the U.S. World Cup team that will compete later this summer.

Sucks, but knew it was coming. What I heard is Conroy wanted to stay in Calgary, but he wanted a long term deal for his family and such. Sutter wasn't willing to do that. I guess that's what he got in LA. 3 years and an option.
Glad to see that Simon resigned though. He's an awesome player. And he wants to be here. I think thats a huge part. I only want players that want to play here. I'm sure that goes for every team.
