you can never unite this country under one banner. looking at the many political parties. this is what's great about democracy. of course there is a minimal amount of nationalism, but with the growing changes and relaxation of social life in this country you continue to see freedom of speech being exercised from groups that had no speak after ww2 (such as blacks, native americans, hispanics, asians etc.)

white people are supporting them and this gives their voice more power into politics. this also changes the collage of america as a whole making it more diverse. dont forget to mention there are 50 states...states also have power so that gives people allegiance to state and country (see civil war for divisions). need i explain more? this country will never see the nationalist unification found under national socialism, nor would i want to see it, as nationalism for this country leads to war...why would we need that and what is so great about it?
