Yes...unlike alot of other bands...Dream Theater has versatility. Some of it you might like, some of it you wouldn't. And no matter what kind of music you like, you should at least respect Dream Theater for their unmatched musical talent and composition.
Static...if you are a more "hardcore" guy, try listening to the album Train of Thought.
