http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmes ... 352&page=0[/url] ":60aec]"It is very simple. Go to your Doom 3 installation directoy and get inside the folder "Base". There are some .PK4 files you have to open each of them with WinRAR 3.3 and extract their entire contents to the Base dir in you Doom 3 installation folder (replace all files if they are any duplicates). Now you have to delete all .PK4 files in the Base folder to prevent the game to use those compressed files agian."

hes basically taking pak001-pak004 and extracting them to the base folder (trying to get an fps boost, it didnt do shit for me). i was thinking since the game would be pulling the individual files from the base, instead of just reading .pk4 files, you could easily replace whatever u wanted modded (i.e. a sound file). long shot but who knows. i dont even know if thast what you wanted

That so call fix is bullshit. It was debunked by one of the id programmers. Don't waste your time.[/quote:60aec]

Yup, if it were the case it was real every quake 3 engine game would react in the same way with a "boost" since they use basically the same pak\dir structure.
