I can only really compare the allied weapons and I think they sound pretty damn close. The only big difference is when the real weapons fire, there is a loud pop that you can't simulate in a videogame. The thompson and "grease-gun" are really loud (your ears ring if people are firing them on either side of you). They are both pretty heavy, much heavier than I would have thought and are tough to maneuver with for long periods of time.

I've fired both semi-automatic weapons, the Garand, and the carbine. I have only seen the BAR fired. The guy who owned it was pretty anal about it. It was war dated and he paid a ton for it so I understood.

I think the reload time is too fast for some of the weapons. The M1 is tough to load as you have to watch out that the chamber doesn't close on your thumb as you place the clip. This was known as "M1-thumb" in the war. In the game you always have clips ready right away. You never have to dig in a bandoleer or deal with the snaps on you web-gear.

Overall, I am happy with the simulation of the weapons and think EA did a fine job.
