Cause most republicans are ultra conservative and apparently having a gay man associated with their party makes them uncomfortable for some reason. Probably cause most of them are unsure of their own sexuality. It might not have been as big a deal if he was just gay but the guy that he was putting his bonzer in might press charges against him for sexual harassment.
