older jeeps have a rough ride I hear. OH and if your clutch is releasing high(the pedal is almost all the way back into position, then your clutch might be close to dead. the lower it releases usually the better.) IF your clutch is gone then get a new one obviously. And with it you shoul notice a huge diference in shifting and starting.
