I thought the same, so I looked it up. The Ring was originally a Japanese movie re-made in America. The Grudge was originally a Japanese movie and is now being made for America. Strange eh?

Seems like the two are unrelated... I figured there would be some kind of tie-in. Meh, I read that they are making a "Ring 2" so that should prevent me from sleeping for a week or two. rock:
